SUMMARY:Aconselhamento e Relação Terapêutica: Como Conhecer os Nossos Clientes e Ajudá-los a Desenvolver o Seu Potencial | Counseling and Relationship: How to Know Your Clients and Help Them Thrive
DESCRIPTION:NOTA: O webinar será ministrado em inglês.\n\nNOTE: This webinar will be held in english.\n—-\nIntervir com pessoas que gaguejam implica compreender muito mais do que as características da sua fala. \n— \nWorking with people who stutter involves much more than addressing the observable characteristics of speech. Stuttering affects the whole person — their thoughts\, feelings\, motivations\, hopes\, fears\, and personal experiences. \nHow can we truly get to know the people we work with? How can we build meaningful therapeutic relationships and support our clients in identifying and achieving what matters most to them? \nIn this webinar\, Daniel Shaw will explore the importance of counseling and therapeutic relationships in stuttering intervention\, with a particular focus on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). \nThroughout this two-hour session\, participants will explore principles and practical strategies for helping people who stutter and their families identify meaningful goals\, recognize their strengths and resources\, and develop solutions that support their desired changes. \nThe webinar will encourage reflection on a person-centered approach to stuttering intervention that goes beyond speech fluency\, focusing on each individual’s priorities\, experiences\, and aspirations. \n—- \nOBJETIVOS / OBJECTIVES\n\nIdentificar pelo menos duas razões que fundamentem a utilização de abordagens baseadas no aconselhamento na intervenção com pessoas que gaguejam.\nIdentificar dois princípios fundamentais da Terapia Breve Centrada nas Soluções (Solution-Focused Brief Therapy).\nDescrever o processo de apoio à definição e avaliação de objetivos terapêuticos centrados no cliente.\n\n— \nBy the end of the webinar\, participants will be able to: \n\nProvide at least two rationales for using counseling-based approaches with clients who stutter.\nIdentify two key principles of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.\nDescribe the process of supporting clients in setting and evaluating meaningful therapeutic goals.\n\n—- \nORADOR / SPEAKER\nDaniel Shaw\nDaniel Shaw é terapeuta da fala no Sisskin Stuttering Center e nas escolas de Sumner County\, no Tennessee\, Estados Unidos da América. \n— \nDaniel Shaw is a speech-language pathologist at the Sisskin Stuttering Center and Sumner County Schools in Tennessee\, USA. \nHe has extensive clinical and academic experience working with people who stutter across all age groups\, in individual and group settings\, including schools\, universities\, and clinical environments. \nHe previously served as chair of the stuttering team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is currently the director of Camp TALKS\, a week-long summer camp for children who stutter at Vanderbilt University. \nDaniel has presented on Avoidance Reduction Therapy for Stuttering (ARTS®) through professional workshops and graduate courses.
